I think people forget how much of a difference there is between Step 1 and Step 2 percentiles. 250 on Step 1 is 82nd percentile but 59th on Step 2. Or 245 is 72nd percentile versus 46th. 245 is below median for Step 2!!!! Whereas 245 is widely considered a "competitive" Step 1 score for any speciality.
